Connection between Rheumatoid Drug Arava and Liver damage established

Leflunomide i.e. 'Arava' is an immuno-modulatory drug that is often utilized in the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis. The drug has carried a warning about the associated injury to liver since the year 2003, but the Food and drug Administration has now asked the drug company to display a much stronger and more prominent warning along with specific points related to the use of the drugs and ways to minimize the damage to liver. Also the nurses are advised to closely observe the patients on Leflunomide for indications of any liver damage.
