No more Heart burns with almonds

It has been seen that eating three almonds before and after a meal helps in alleviating heart-burn. But make sure that these are plain almonds and not the chocolate covered ones, as the chocolate relaxes the lower esophagus sphincter, i.e. the ring of muscle separating the stomach from the esophagus. Heart burn takes place when this lower esophagus sphincter relaxes to allow the acid to flow back into the swallowing tube. This is certainly a piece of good news for people suffering from acid-reflux and other associated symptoms.
